Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek filming in Split | Bliss

Owen Wilson arrived in the gorgeous Croatian town of Split last friday and has been joined by Salma Hayek since. The famous Hollywood actors are in the Dalmatian coastal town to film some scenes of Mike Cahill’s new movie, Bliss. Shooting of the Sci-Fi drama also took place in Los Angeles.

Owen Wilson has been spotted quite a lot in the centre of Split: at restaurant Dvor, in a supermarket, at the Game of Thrones museum, at restaurant Zrno Soli, at the Konoba Fetivi (with Salma) and ‘on the loose’ in the streets of the old town 😉

Salma Hayek was in Croatia earlier this year as well, working on The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard with Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. They filmed scenes in Rovinj, Rijeka and Zagreb.

A blissful reality

Owen Wilson plays Greg, a recently divorced man who is having a hard time when he meets the enchanting Isabel (salma Hayek). She is convinced that the ugly and harsh world around them is not real. She thinks the broken world they live in, is merely an alternative simulation inside of a beautiful and blissful reality. That sounds kind of freaky!

Mike Cahill

Cahill is the writer and director of Bliss. He is most known for his films Another Earth and I Origins. Both films won the Alfred P. Sloan Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. He also directed the pilots of The Magicians, The Path, and Rise.

The release date of the Amazon Studios and Endgame Entertainment production is unknown at the moment.

So, who’s in Split now? Did you spot Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek yet?

  1. I love both these actors and like them together! They’re very talented and hilarious! Wish I could have been there to see them in person:( but I guess I’ll just have to watch the movie!

  2. How cool is this? I think that they’ll have great chemistry on the big screen so this movie is on my radar.

  3. Wouldn’t it e fun to run into Owen Wilson or Salma Hayek. I would probably be tonguetied and have nothing to say!
